Tableware: enhance your dishes and improve your festive menus

Tableware is the main factor in the customer experience. Impeccable presentation immediately reinforces the perception of quality and attention to detail.

Pro tip:

✔︎ Combine your festive dinnerware with your everyday dinnerware for impeccable service.

✔︎ Reserve a few extra pieces for simultaneous services.

✔︎ Gold, silver or matte finishes provide an instant touch of distinction.

Glassware: a discreet luxury for your cocktails and champagnes

How to choose the right glassware for your restaurant

Are you planning to open a restaurant and looking for some tips to find the glassware that best fits your establishment?

Choosing the right wine, champagne, water and cocktail glasses can make a big difference. Obviously, you can’t take other establishments as a reference without first considering your specific activity, your budget and the type of clientele, as they probably won’t be the same.

In this article, we explain what aspects you should consider when choosing glasses for each type of wine and other beverages.

The importance of choosing your glasses carefully

Offering good wines on the menu is one thing, but knowing how to showcase them is another. Whatever the wine, it must be appreciated with all the senses: visual, olfactory and, of course, gustatory.

But what are the criteria that should really help you choose your glasses? First of all, you should know that not all establishments have the same needs or the same budget. In addition, you may not have the space to store a large amount of glassware. If you have an inn or a fine dining restaurant, you probably won’t use the same type of glassware.

And, of course, the type of wine and alcohol you offer will have a direct impact on your glass purchase: you will not need the same glasses for a young wine served in a bar as for a fine dining restaurant.

Finally, your glasses must be resistant: breakage is a frequent occurrence in the catering environment. It is good to know that nowadays most manufacturers offer glassware specially designed for professionals.

How to choose the right glasses

✔︎ Opt for glasses that allow a sufficient quantity, but leave enough space to make a slight rotational movement with the wine. This action increases the surface in contact with the air and allows a better perception of the aromas. But do not overdo it: glasses should not be too large and disproportionate to the rest of the service.

✔︎ The rim of the glass should be of quality: you can run your finger lightly along the rim to make sure it is smooth. This part is very important as it is the part that is in contact with the lips.

✔︎ The type of wine on your menu also plays an essential role in the choice of glasses. For example, for red wines, opt for fairly large glasses with a wide goblet. On the other hand, for white wines, it is not necessary for the glasses to be so large, because not so much space is needed for the movement of the wine and the development of aromas.

Some examples of wine glasses

When choosing wine glasses, you will find several references:

✔︎ Bordeaux type glass: tapered shape, with a wide opening, designed to favor the oxygenation of Bordeaux wine, which needs more time than other wines to express itself.

✔︎ Burgundy type glass: more rounded in shape, it concentrates all the aromas and offers a more restricted aeration due to its narrower opening.

✔︎ The champagne glass: it should allow you to enjoy the bubbles. Contrary to what one might think, it should not be too narrow, as champagne is still a wine. Rather than necessarily opting for the traditional glass, a shape that tapers towards the foot and has a slight bulge is recommended.

And for cocktails?

There is a wide variety of glasses and cocktail glasses that should be adapted to your offer. For cocktails with a high alcohol content, it is recommended to prioritize small glasses, while for milder cocktails you can choose larger glasses.

Among the cocktail glasses you will find: shot glasses for pure liquors, Martini glasses for cocktails with ice, Old Fashioned or Rocks glasses, designed more for whiskey.

And don’t forget that the transparency of a glass makes all the difference: it allows you to appreciate the color of the drink or the mix of shades of a cocktail, inviting you to taste and enjoy the pleasure of drinking.

Tableware that embraces Autumn: trends and featured collections

As autumn arrives with its warm tones, natural textures, and cozy atmosphere, our table can also adapt to the seasonal mood. Choosing the right tableware for this time of year goes beyond appearance: it influences the dining experience, the way each dish stands out, and the overall harmony of the table.

Keys to choosing the perfect autumn tableware

Before selecting a specific set, it’s worth considering which qualities best evoke that autumnal feeling:

Warm and neutral color palette

Shades like beige, soft terracotta, ochre, light browns, off-white, and warm grey highlight the food while reflecting the essence of the season without competing visually.

Subtle textures and matte or semi-matte finishes

Lightly textured surfaces, soft glazes, and gentle relief details add tactile depth and visual interest without distraction.

Organic shapes and smooth edges

Avoid overly geometric designs and opt for rounded or slightly irregular edges that bring visual softness.

Versatility for various dishes

Good autumn tableware should also be practical: pieces that are microwave and dishwasher safe, and suitable for professional use if needed.

Compatibility with decorative elements

Make sure your pieces pair beautifully with centerpieces like dry branches, pinecones, or autumn leaves, and with natural table linens such as linen or jute.

Perfect pairings for an inspiring autumn table

The magic of an autumn table doesn’t just lie in the tableware you choose, but in how you combine it. Playing with shapes, colors, and textures allows you to create cozy settings that invite people to savor every bite. Below are some ideas for mixing these pieces to give your table a unique, seasonal charm.

Textiles and accessories

Use linen tablecloths or runners in sand, soft mustard, or muted green tones. Add woven chargers or pieces made of natural fibers, raw cotton or jute napkins, and centerpieces made with dry leaves, eucalyptus branches, or painted oak twigs.

Contrast with seasonal foods

Use ingredients like pumpkins, mushrooms, beets, or homemade jams to create beautiful color contrasts on neutral, light-toned plates.

Warm lighting

Amber candles or soft lighting enhance the porcelain’s texture. Warm reflections keep neutral tones from feeling too “cold.”

Final tips for choosing and using tableware in autumn

Beyond design and inspiration, a few practical details can make all the difference when choosing and using tableware in autumn. From durability to how it integrates with your décor, these tips will help you make the most of every piece.

Keep a cohesive look by range or material

Even if you mix different collections, ensure that the porcelain type, thickness, and texture complement each other so your table feels balanced.

Avoid overcrowding

In autumn, simplicity conveys elegance. Let your table “breathe”: leave enough space between pieces, centerpieces, and décor.

Plan by color layers

Neutral tableware allows for subtle touches of color: rust-toned napkins, soft golden accents, or elements in copper or aged wood.

Our recommendations

Palma range by Accolade

Its embossed brown exterior adds tactile and visual appeal. The glossy glaze gives it a natural, authentic touch that enhances the colors and textures of your dishes while maintaining a clean, sophisticated look.

Savanna range by Accolade

Its natural beige tone is perfect for autumn, adding warmth without darkening the table. Ideal for serving appetizers, starters, or light dishes.

Sakura range by Pioli

While “Sakura” evokes the cherry blossom and springtime, its simplicity and purity make it incredibly versatile. Combined with warm autumn tones — terracotta napkins or rustic linens — it creates a refined, airy feel.

Harvest Mediterranean Terracotta range by Dudson

Perfect for creating a more eclectic style. Hand-finished with a distinctive rim, this rustic Mediterranean design pairs beautifully with other colors inspired by the season.
